Rusty, the big red dog. |
This is a picture of my companion, Rusty, the big red dog. He is lying on the floor watching me type on the computer. He also likes to nap with me.
Tuesday evening, Ken said a big vehicle pulled up in the drive and I thought it was Sheri with dinner, but it wasn't. It was actually Sheila. She was the best student teacher I ever had. She teaches in Florida now. Her grandfather passed away and she was back for the funeral. (I am sorry for your loss.) It was wonderful to see her and talk to her in person. She has had two of the cutest redheaded boys since she left Oklahoma and got married to Jeff, the love of her life, but she looks like she did in college! I am jealous. It was a too quick visit. Then Sheri came by with dinner. Thank you it was good.
Let's see. Wednesday I called the cancer center and still no authorization for the herceptin. That is frustrating. Mary Ann and Judy came by and took me to lunch. Thank you girls, I really enjoyed it! (I was so pitiful, there I was anxiously waiting on the porch.) We laughed and ate. Thursday, Ken dropped me off at school on his way to work (7:00). It was good to be in my classroom. I got some things ready for next week. Rebecca did a great job while I was gone. Thank you so much, Rebecca. I went out to lunch with Melissa and caught up on school activities. I enjoyed catching up. I went home and rested for a bit. It was a sorority night and since I missed the last meeting I was excited to go and see everyone. We had a St. Patrick's celebration. Good food, nice guests, and fun. It was a late night and I was tired!
Time to get back to the journey. About 9:30 I called the cancer center to find out about the authorization. They said they would do some digging. While I was talking to them I realized that I missed the 9:00 NVG test. That is the test to check for heart damage. The herceptin has the potential to do heart damage. I called and got the test rescheduled for Tuesday. Soon the cancer center called me back, with the authorization for me to take the herceptin. Yahoo! I need to take this so I can get to the end of this journey. The time I miss will be made up at the end of the year, so this could go on until October. Ugh! So I called Ken to alert him that I will need to go to the cancer center. So, I have had my herceptin and I am a bit tired. I am resting so I will be ready for date night. Tonight we are going to eat at Red Lobster. Yummy!
So who do I need to talk to about a good night to bring dinner by? I'm not as good of a cook as Ken, but I sure would love to bring something on a night when you've not got any plans. Email me at: frbuss@hotmail.com
